All Walks of Life Community Development
Working to provide services and programs that will nurture and assist families in becoming self-sufficient.
WHO WE ARE
All Walks Of Life Community Development (AWOL CD) Is a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing a community land and housing trust. Our mission is to create career education opportunities, generate employment, and provide essential affordable housing. AWOL CD was founded to bridge the gap between hard-working families and the resources they need to thrive.
With deep roots in the civil rights movement, our team is committed to expanding opportunities within the Black community. Our journey began in the early 2000s through church activities and community volunteer efforts, culminating in our official incorporation in August 2000.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to deliver programs and services to children, youth, and adults from low to middle-income families, fostering self-sufficiency and enhancing educational and personal success. We aim to :
● Develop and provide affordable housing opportunities.
● Offer employment services and work experience .
● Expand target neighborhoods.
● Create high-performing economic and entrepreneurial opportunities.
● Provide social and supportive services
● Assist individuals in completing self-directed stress and anger management plans, including emotional and spiritual skill-building.
Creating an ecosystem for young black adults that will help foster career opportunities, startup support, resources, and capital for new innovation ideals.
OUR MODEL
Each site developed by AWOL CD follows a structured process to expose high school students to careers in real estate and technology. Participants will engage with professionals in various fields, including design, planning, financing, real estate, insurance, leasing, credit, legal, property management, appraisal, accounting, and business management.
By partnering with these professionals , we secure their commitment to provide workshops and mentoring for our participants. We collaborate with existing high school programs to offer necessary tutoring and support, helping students pursue identified career tracks. Programs like the Educational Guidance Center (EGC) will assist in tutoring and linking students to community colleges, state universities, and the UC system.
We aim to connect with social service providers to identify potential clients and form a professional advisory panel of local construction and tech sector business leaders to expand this program.
OUR GOAL
Our goal is to find innovative ways to invest in the potential of our youth and young adults by addressing healthcare and mental health needs in the Black community. To kickstart our efforts. we are focused on securing funding to establish two housing sites for our community land trust
With the necessary funding, we aim to:
● Complete Strategic and business planning
● Recruit and train board members.
● Enhance fundraising and development efforts.
● Establish a small storefront equipped to support our basic operations.
