Your funding partnership will allow us to:
Seeking two housing sites to initiate the operation of the land trust. AWL would use grant dollars to build the organization by completing strategic and business planning; board recruitment and training, and fundraising and development.
AWL would also move into a small storefront with equipment to support basic operations. AWL additionally use grant dollars to seek a relationship with the City of Oakland and other appropriate Alameda County cities as a community housing development organization (CHDO) as defined by HUD.Outreach to youth and young adults to improve their life experiences. With a small operational team, we could offer skills workshops and courses in real estate development, and Technology/Startup development with an organization that seeks to contribute to a more progressive future.
Invest in training designed to impact entrepreneurial/ technology growth and the enhancement of employment. Over the life of the trust, youth participants would interact with design, financing, real estate, insurance, leasing, credit, legal, real property management, and appraisal, accounting, and business management professionals. UI/UX design, wireframe design, coding, The process for introduction to VCs for capital and investment, startup Bootcamp, Ideal to market stage startup.
Create a robust housing initiative With a youth training component that serves as a linkage to construction & tech trades and businesses.
Develop a business development center linkage solution that provides SBDC certification and ongoing feedback for Black businesses.
